Chwihoga House

Chwihoga House is a true hidden gem nestled in Pyeongchang of Gangwon Province in South Korea. Surrounded by the serene landscape of the Taebaek Mountains, there's really no better spot to relax and recharge. Just a short two hour train ride from Seoul Station and you'll find yourself in this carefully designed compound run by two former Seoulites that are embracing the slow life in Pyeongchang.

Designed by the firm 100A Associates, the minimal tones of the structure seamlessly blends with its natural surroundings. An homage to the tigers that once roamed in the mountains, there are elements of the tiger that can be spotted throughout the area in their careful designs. Chwihoga House is made up of two main structures: the main facade of exposed concrete leads to the biggest room known as The Calm, and two others Inhale and Exhale stand adjacent.

The Calm room features an indoor hinoki bath tub and an outdoor one for use, along with a wood fire sauna that were perfect for a late March stay where temperatures were hovering at the single digits.
